Walking the streets of Florence

Walking the streets of Florence

A man is standing on the cobbled stones of Via Tornabuoni, in Florence, with his arms folded across his chest. Waiting.

He is a big man, dressed in a full-length black coat, expensive, and a black, wide-brimmed hat. He has a shock of curly blond hair, the colour of straw, sticking out from under the hat. He is of indeterminate age – somewhere between forty and fifty.

He is an Italian, and his name is Avio.

I join him, and we walk and we talk. We have done this many times.

I'd like to invite you to meet my friend Avio regularly here in my blogs. We have worked together for many years. I think you'll like him.

  • I like these little "Walking with Avio" tidbits scattered throughout the blog. They give me a chuckle.

  • Florence is one of my favourite cities, being the cradle of the Italian Renaissance and instantly recognisable by Brunelleschi's Duomo. I loved exploring the piazzas, the Uffizi and Academia art galleries and paying my respects at the burial place of Michelangelo and Galileo, in the Basilica di Santa Croce. I look forward to revisiting Florence! "Andiamo a passeggio con Lynn e Avio a Firenze."
